How to Use Light T-shirt Transfer Paper with Heat Press Machine?
Light t-shirt transfer paper, is the transfer paper which designed for pure cotton light t-shirt printing. For this kind of transfer paper, we usually use two kinds of tools to transfer the images to the t-shirts: a heat press machine, or a household iron. Today, we will show you the steps of using the heat press machine.
1. Printing and Preparing Image.
- The whiter/smoother surface (without back print) is the imaging side of the paper.
- Print design on the paper as a mirror image (reverse image).
- Refer to printer settings (see below); single-sheet feeding is recommended.
- Before printing final image, produce on economy grade paper to test for layout/design.
2. Cut Out Design.
- Do not leave a margin around edge of the image.
- Use an image with rounded edges to avoid corner liftoff after washing.
3. Preparing for Transfer.
- Prepare heat press at 345°F or refer to your manufacturer ‘s specifications.
- Fabric should be 100% cotton; press first if necessary to ensure flatness, then let cool.
- Place transfer paper with printed image facing down in desired position on fabric.
*These are recommended guidelines only. Please refer to your manufacturer’s conditions since all Heat Presses function differently.
4. Peel & Wear.
- Allow fabric to cool completely, then smoothly and evenly peel away backing paper.
- To facilitate peeling, gently fold the fabric near an edge of the transferred image.
