1. Make sure you are using the proper profile
A print profile is data that is used for specific materials that tells the printer what to output. This includes how much ink to put down, heat and dry times, preventing streaking or over saturation and other issues. We like to think of it as a recipe. If you are using a heat transfer material, and you are printing with a banner profile, you will most likely be laying down too much ink. Not only does this effect the print negatively, but it is also coming out of your ink cost/consumption.

  2. To start the day, run a short job
Head rubs or head crashes are common seen when printing. What can happen is that there is a heater in most of the print cut systems that when activated to start the day can affect the media. In some cases, the heat will make the media rise because it is locked into place by the pinch rollers and media clamps. That media wants to expand but has nowhere to go. The more that the material feeds out is when it can affect the job, the print head can rub against the material or even crash the further the job length. A good solution to this is to run a small job in the beginning of the day.

If you want to start a small business in inkjet printing, then desktop inkjet printer is really a good choice for you.
