Many customers ask me that though they know the importance of sample testing, they don’t know how to judge the quality of the sublimation paper samples. In other words, they don’t know how to test the samples. Actually speaking, sample testing is not hard as long as you follow the advice below.

1. Before you let your suppliers send the samples to you, you can ask them is there a test report of the sublimation paper. The testing reports are made in the original lab by the researching people, it contains every vital factor of the paper, and all the data are authoritative and credible.

2. After checking the test report, you can ask your suppliers send the samples to you. And the next important thing you need do is check the appearance of the sublimation paper you receive. Here are 2 points you need remember when checking the appearance.

First, have a look at the paper sample, and see whether there are little dots on the paper. If there are many little dots on the paper, it will influence the result of the pure color printing.

Then, fell the paper and judge whether the printing surface is smooth or not. Generally speaking, high-quality sublimation paper are very smooth, because only smooth printing surface can help protect the print head.

3. The finally step is testing your paper samples with your equipment. You can’t purchase the sublimation paper which is not suitable for your inkjet printers and dye sublimation ink, even it has the best quality. So, you must have a test with your printer and sublimation ink. We usually pay attention to the following aspects when testing:

The transfer rate: transfer rate is an important indicator to judge the paper’s quality, sublimation paper with high transfer rate will make the color more vivid after transfer printing. The transfer rate of our sublimation paper is about 95%.

The drying rate: A fast dry paper will improve your working efficiency a lot. So test the drying rate is also essential.

Finally, please adjust your printing and transfer setting based on the sample. This is also a purpose of samples testing. As we all know, the sublimation ink, sublimation paper , inkjet printer and the heat press machine is an entire system.
