What is the process of sublimation paper printing？

Sublimation printing, also referred to as dye sublimation printing,is a process that consists of the direct printing of a digital file to paper, by various the most common is through inkjet printers. This process is recommended when the print volume is small and the delivery time is very short, since one of the main advantages of this type of printing is the almost immediate availability of the prints, this type of printing is having an accelerated growth so several printers and businesses are incorporating this type of printers.

In sublimation printing, a sheet of plastic that has been coated with dye is placed in close proximity to the paper (or other material that’s being printed on). A tiny heating element then heats the sheet in one spot, causing some of the dye to melt and then evaporate, and some of the evaporated dye lands on the paper.

(In practice, there are a large number of the tiny heating elements, so that the sublimation printing process doesn’t take a too long, although it is still slower than inkject printing.)

Sublimation printing is well suited to making high-quality photographic images, and that’s its current niche as far as personal computing is concerned. Dye sublimation is also used for large-format printers that print on textiles, etc.
